Secure Transactions

Am I safe using my credit card on your site?

All orders on our site are 100% secure. We use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow encryption of sensitive information such as your name, address and credit card details.

Any SSL-enabled browser will transfer your transaction information confidentially by scrambling your information before sending it to our shopping cart for us to decode. That means that even if someone managed to intercept your data between your computer and our shopping cart, they would be unable to read it.

How do I know my browser supports encryption technology?

The following browsers are among the most popular browsers that are SSL enabled:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and later
  • Netscape Navigator 4.7 and later
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 for Mac and later
  • Netscape Navigator 4.0 for Mac and later
  • Any AOL browser that has any of the above browsers on the same computer

How can I download a browser that supports encryption if my current browser doesn't?

You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, or Firefox by clicking the following links:

How can I double-check that the information I send you is secure?

To make sure you are accessing our secure shopping cart before you submit personal financial information, look at the lower right-hand corner of your browser. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser), SSL security protocols are active and any information you send us will be encrypted.

Note also that our shopping cart processes all transactions through the state-of-the-art secure servers of Marketer's Choice. Check the address bar of the page that asks you for your financial information. The address in the address bar should start with https://www.mcssl.com.

Am I safe from fraudulent use of my credit card on your site?

Under the Fair Credit Card Billing Act, your bank and/or credit card issuer cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of fraudulent charges.

If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50, we will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50, if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted through no fault of your own from purchases made at Woodworking Projects and Plans while using our secure server.

In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with their reporting rules and procedures.
